Gold has been touching new highs throughout this year. On October 17, the price of one sovereign reached an all-time peak of Rs. 97,600. After Diwali, prices dipped slightly, but over the last two days, gold has been on a steady upward trend. As of today, one sovereign is being sold at Rs. 94,400.

In Chennai, the price of 22-carat gold jewelry has increased by Rs. 80 per gram, bringing the cost of one sovereign to Rs. 94,400.

Silver prices have also inched upward. One gram of silver is being sold at Rs. 176, an increase of Rs. 2. The price of one kilogram of silver has risen by Rs. 2,000, now sold at Rs. 1,76,000.
