The cost of gold has decreased by Rs. 80 per sovereign on Thursday Morning (February 22, 2024). The cost of the gold rate has decreased by Rs. 10 per gram.

 

The gold rate has decreased and one sovereign is worth Rs. 46,400.00 and a gram is Rs. 5,800.00.   

 

The cost of 1 gram of pure gold (24 K) is now Rs. 6,270.00. 

 

A kilo of silver is priced at Rs. 76500.00 and a gram is worth Rs. 76.50.

The important piece of news is that on the occasion of girivalam in Thiruvannamala plus weekends etc as many as 1730 special buses would be operated from Chennai and from various places on 23rd and on 24th February.

Mr. Mohan, MD, SETC has released a press note and as per that it was clear that since 23rd and 24th February were weekends many people would travel from Chennai to Thiruvannamalai etc and to other places from various places belonging to TN etc. In this scenario, SETC has decided to operate special buses in addition to the daily buses.

Information is that on 23rd and 24th of February 1370 buses would ply from Kilambakkam in south Chennai to places like Trichy,Madurai, Kumbakonam, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Kanniyakumari, Tuticorin, Kovai, Salem, Erode and Tirupur etc. From Koyambedu in Chennai, 160 buses would ply to places like Nagai, Vellankanni, Hosur, Bengaluru. It must be noted that 200 buses would operate from places like Bengaluru, Tiruppur, Erode and Coimbatore etc to various places. A total of 1730 special buses would be operated.

It is learnt that for the return journey from the native places to Chennai and Bengaluru etc on 26th February, many buses would be operated as per the demands of the passengers. Point is that for this weekend`s trip more than 16,000 passengers have booked their tickets already.

On the occasion of pournami girivalam , SETC has decided to operate 30 a/c buses with seating and sleeper facilities from Kilambakkam in south Chennai to Thiruvannamalai on 23rd and 24th February.

To travel in these buses advance booking could be done through the website www.tnstc.in and through tnstc app. To monitor the movement of special buses, adequate officers have been appointed at certain bus stands. This was also mentioned in the press release.
