The Thiruvalluvar University was established in the year of 2002 October 16 by the Government of Tamil Nadu under the Thiruvalluvar University Act, 2002. It was located in Vellore at Fort Campus, It was inaugurated our Honorable Chief Minister Selvi DR. J. Jayalalithaa
It was functioning the Postgraduate Extension Centre of University of Madras before 2002. After the diverge from the University of Madras now it has moved to Sekadu near to Vallimalai, 16 Kilometer off vellore. This campus was inaugurated by Mr. Karunanidhi on 27 November 2010. The area of Thiruvalluvar University is about 112.68 acres at Serkadu
