The State Government of Tamil Nadu has decided to operate 16392 special buses for the special occasion of the Pongal Festival!
For the citizens planning to visit their native places to celebrate Pongal, special buses are to operate from Chennai Metro City to other places and from those places to Chennai and other cities as well!
There are 6 Bus terminals in Chennai Metro City taking passengers to different places without facing any hardships!
As such, the reservation booking for these special buses commenced on 12th December. It may be noted that all seats in the buses leaving for the Southern Districts of the State got filled quite quickly!
So far, 50000 citizens had booked travel to their native places to celebrate Pongal!
Meanwhile, in this regarding the Pongal Special Buses, the Tamil Nadu Government State Minister for Transport, S. S. Sivasankar presided over a meeting today reviewing the status and the preparatory activities today (Tuesday, 3rd January).
After this review meeting, information was shared that 10749 buses are scheduled to operate from Chennai from 12th January to 14th January and also on the same days from 5183 special buses from other districts.
