Linking Aadhar Card with Electricity Connection Number has been made mandatory by TANGEDCO.
The State Government of Tamil Nadu has released several announcements and has made the facility to LINK an AADHAAR CARD WITH an ELECTRICITY CONNECTION NUMBER ONLINE!
In this situation, citizens who have more than 1 account of electricity connection, have apprehensions whether there will be more problems if the same Aadhar number is linked with more than one electricity connection number!
However, most of those who have more than 1 electricity connection number has given only a single and same cell phone number!
In this situation, a categorical explanation is given that CONSUMERS CAN LINK AADHAR CARD WITH MORE THAN 1 ELECTRICITY CONNECTIONS NUMBER AND THERE WON`T BE ANY ISSUES ON THIS!
Further, a facility has been made for the tenants who pay the monthly rent to the owners to link their Aadhar card with the rented location`s electricity connection number.
AS SUCH, IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT IT HAS BEEN CATEGORICALLY CLARIFIED THAT EVEN TENANTS CAN LINK THEIR AADHAR CARDS WITH THE ELECTRICITY CONNECTION NUMBER IN THE RENTED RESIDENCE!

It is further announced that citizens while paying electricity bills in the EB offices, can take their Aadhar cards along and get it linked with the concerned Electricity Connection Number even while paying the Electricity charges!! The consumers are appealed to utilize this facility as well!
