The Devasthanam administration has announced a major initiative to reduce air pollution in the holy town of Tirupati. As part of its efforts, it has decided to convert all its free buses to electric buses.
Currently, a total of 10 free buses run round the clock on behalf of the Devasthanam to facilitate the travel of Tirupati devotees. These buses have been a popular mode of transportation for tourists and locals alike.
However, the buses run on petrol and diesel, which contributes to the air pollution in the Tirupati Hill region. In an effort to combat this, the Devasthanam administration has decided to gradually reduce the number of vehicles running on fossil fuels.
