A decision has been made to recruit doctors for the vacant positions in government hospitals through the Medical Recruitment Board (MRB). Accordingly, on 11th October, the Medical Recruitment Board released an announcement to fill 1021 vacant positions of Assistant Doctors. Applications were accepted online at www.mrb.tn.gov.in until 25th October 2022, and 25,000 MBBS qualified candidates applied.

The plan was to conduct a computerized written examination in November 2022, but due to administrative issues, the exam was not conducted. Therefore, the written examination for the 1021 vacant positions of Assistant Doctors is now scheduled to take place on 25th April (tomorrow), throughout Tamil Nadu.

A notification released by the Collector of Chennai District mentions that an awareness program is to be organized for the students of 11th and 12th standard regarding the guidelines and prospects for higher education courses, with immediate job prospects, and the institutions offering these courses, as per the guidelines of the Central Government`s Post Matric Educational Assistance Scheme to increase the number of higher education candidates belonging to the Adi Dravidas Community.
Two self-volunteered service organizations will conduct this program at Loyola College on the 19th of April (Wednesday) at 2:00 PM. Therefore, all students studying in government high schools in Chennai District are invited to participate in this event and take advantage of its benefits.

Time Extension granted to apply for NEET!

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the last date to apply for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) has been extended to April 15th!

Initially, the NTA had set the last date as April 6th, following which parents and students requested an extension of the deadline. Consequently, the deadline was extended to April 13th.

However, in response to further appeals by students, the NTA has announced a final extension of the deadline to April 15th for NEET applications.

Therefore, students who are interested but haven`t yet applied to write NEET, as well as those who have already applied but need to make corrections in their applications, can now avail themselves of this last opportunity!

Applications can be submitted online on the website http://neet.nta.nic.in/ until April 23rd (which is tomorrow, Saturday). Please note that applications received after this deadline will not be considered!

The National Testing Agency has advised candidates to regularly visit the website www.nta.nic.ac.in for updated status information.

The Department of School Education of the State Government of Tamil Nadu has announced that the 28th of April will be THE LAST WORKING DAY for all schools!
  • The annual examinations for the students studying from the 1st to the 3rd Standard MUST be completed between the 17th and the 21st of April.
  • For the Students studying in the classes from the 4th Standard to the 9th Standard, the annual examinations MUST be conducted and completed between the 10th of April and the 28th of April.

TNPSC: Release of the new timetable for competitive examinations!

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) undertakes the responsibility of recruiting for different vacant posts in various departments of the State Government of Tamil Nadu by conducting recruitment in different stages for different cadres of vacancies through competitive written examinations and interviews.

TNPSC has now released the modified timetable of competitive examinations for different groups of vacant posts. In this revised schedule, certain new announcements have been made. The new posts added include: Assistant Prison Officer (for males and females), Assistant Managers (Law) in the Tamil Nadu Government State Transport Corporation, Research Assistants (in Geography, Economics, and Social Science), Vacant posts in the Tamil Nadu Urban/City Administration, and Assistant Training Officer (Shorthand-English).

Further, technical posts have been added that require education up to the 10th standard, ITI – Industrial Training Institutes courses offering 2-year training courses on various trades including electrician, carpentry, welding, wireman, plumber, etc., specialization courses (CA/CMA (ICWA)), Junior Analysts in medical diagnostic laboratories, and lodge/hostel supervisors and Physical Exercise Officers.

New technical posts that require graduation in the concerned faculties with related specialization have also been included, such as Assistant Management Officer, Assistant Horticultural Officer, Laboratory Assistants (in Tamil Nadu Forensic Services Post), and District Child-care and Security Officer.

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has further informed that announcements for vacancies will also be released this year for the posts of Accounts Manager, Accounts Officer, and Junior Scientific Officer.

It is worth noting that despite a large number of appeals demanding that the Group-IV competitive examinations be conducted before the end of 2023 and that an announcement of Group-2 and Group-2A Competitive Examinations be made, these have not been included in this revised timetable.

Practical Examinations for +1 and +2 students commence today!

The practical examination for the Science Group Students of the 11th & 12th Standards (+1 & +2) under the syllabus of the State Government of Tamil Nadu commences today (Wednesday, 1st March).

The Public Examinations for the 10th, 11th, & 12th (+1 & +2) Standard Students under the Tamil Nadu State Government Syllabus are scheduled to be conducted from 13th March until 20th April.

The final stages of the related tasks are nearing completion.

As such, the practical examinations for the Science Group Students of 11th & 12th Standards (+1 & +2) are scheduled to start today (Wednesday, 1st March) until 9th March.

Around 17 Lakh Students studying in over 5000 higher secondary schools are participating in these practical examinations.

Around 95000 students are set to participate in Chennai District alone.

All requisite laboratory equipment and materials have been made available in all schools. As such, the practical examinations MUST be conducted smoothly without any disturbance or shortage!

The schools MUST follow the Guidelines set by the Tamil Nadu State Government Examination Board, prepare a subject-wise timetable and complete conducting the examinations by 9th March.

For each round of the practical examinations, not more than 25-30 students MUST be permitted. Students who have been exemption from the practical examinations by the Department of Examinations of the State Government of Tamil Nadu MUST be given an exemption from participating in the practical examinations.

Further, if say complaints are received, the relevant school headmasters/principals will be deemed to be responsible for the same!

As such, the Department of Education of the State Government of Tamil Nadu has CAUTIONED THE SCHOOL HEADMASTERS TO PERFORM WITH EXTRA ATTENTION TO AVOID THESE!
