Purpose:
The Unmarried Women Pension Scheme (UWPS) provides financial assistance to unmarried women who are without adequate means of subsistence. It is designed for:
– Women who have never been married
– Destitute unmarried women without regular financial support
– Women belonging to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families
– Unmarried women without adequate means of livelihood

Required Documents:
Mandatory:
– Applicant Photo (recent passport-sized)
– Aadhaar Card
– Aadhaar Consent Form (downloadable from portal)
– Smart Card / Ration Card / Any Address Proof
– Self-Declaration of Applicant (downloadable from portal)
– Bank Passbook
– Any Identity Proof (Voter ID, Passport, PAN, Driving License)

Special Requirements:
– Applicant must have a valid Citizen Access Number (CAN)
– Marital Status: Must be legally unmarried
– Destitute Status: Must declare as destitute without adequate means
– BPL Status: Must belong to Below Poverty Line family
– Bank Account: Required for direct benefit transfer
– Aadhaar Mandatory: Both number and consent form compulsory

Step-by-Step Application Process:

1. Visit the Portal: Login to e-Sevai Tamil Nadu https://tnedistrict.tn.gov.in portal as Operator
2. Navigate to Service: Services – Revenue Department – REV-204 Unmarried Women Pension Scheme
3. CAN Verification:
– If applicant has CAN: Search by CAN number/name and proceed
– If not: Click “Register CAN”, complete OTP verification, obtain CAN number
4. Complete Application Form:
– Section 1: Applicant Details (auto-filled)
– Section 2: Current Address (auto-filled)
– Section 3: Permanent Address (auto-filled)
– Section 4: Contact Details (auto-filled)
– Section 5: Form Details – bank/post office info, BPL status, destitute status
– Section 6: Income Details – income of all family members

Gold Price Falls Again in Chennai: Total Drop of Rs. 4,000 in Two Days

The price of gold ornaments in Chennai has continued to decline for the past few days. After a sharp drop of Rs. 3,680 per sovereign yesterday, gold prices have fallen by another Rs. 320 per sovereign today.

Gold, which had been rising steadily earlier this month, has now seen a consistent downward trend. On October 18, the price of a sovereign dropped by Rs. 1,600, bringing the rate to Rs. 96,000. Subsequently, on Diwali day, gold prices decreased by Rs. 80 per gram to Rs. 11,920, while the price per sovereign fell by Rs. 640 to Rs. 95,360.

However, on Tuesday, the price rebounded slightly, increasing by Rs. 80 per gram to Rs. 12,000, with a sovereign selling for Rs. 96,000.

Yesterday (Oct. 22), gold prices plunged sharply – falling by Rs. 460 per gram to Rs. 11,540, and by Rs. 3,680 per sovereign to Rs. 92,320.

Today (Thursday morning), the downward trend continued as the price dropped by another Rs. 40 per gram, bringing the rate to Rs. 11,500 per gram and Rs. 92,000 per sovereign.

Meanwhile, silver prices have also seen a decline – falling by Re. 1 per gram to Rs. 174, with one kilogram of silver priced at Rs. 1,74,000.

It is necessary that for our lives to be normal we must have good liver health. Damaged liver or liver malfunctions would be revealed by certain signs on our hands. Long before other signs would appear our hands would provide us early clues about liver damage in us. It is necessary that we must consider these signs seriously and take necessary action.

Various subtle signs of liver damage shown in our hands are

Palmar erythema or red palms:

Beneath the thumb and little finger, we could have red colored and this is palmar erythema. Here, elevated oestrogen levels could result in vasodilation in our hands. If red colour occurs in health persons then it is normal but in certain adults it reveals underlying liver issues.

Dupuytren`s contracture:

Beneath the skin of the palm, tissue would get thickened and tightened leading to bent fingers and this is referred to as dupuytren`s contracture. Those with liver disease would have this mostly.

Terry`s nails:

Presence of white appearance at the tip of the nails with narrow pink band at the base is terry`s nails. It must be noted that the nail change could indicate liver cirrhosis in us. This sign would also be seen in persons with heart failure, diabetes etc.

Nail clubbing:

In some persons, their fingertips and nails would be round and wide and this is called nail clubbing. These persons might have chronic liver diseases.

Asterixis:

A coarse, non-rhythmic tremor with sudden brief lapses in muscle contraction is asterixis. Those patients with severe liver disease would show this sign. It is a neurological disorder that is characterised by flapping tremor.

Itchy palms and soles etc:

It is worthy to note that Cholestasis is a condition where flow of bile from the liver gets slowed down. As a result, bile components would build up in the body. The person would have itchy palms and soles. Issues like liver cirrhosis could lead to cholestasis in us.

It is worth noting that if a person finds persistent changes in their hands like redness, nail abnormalities, unexplained itching etc, then he or she must consult a medical professional or doctor immediately. Effective liver management would be possible by early detection of liver problems.
