The Department of Electricity of the State Government of Tamil Nadu has organized a special `Name Change Camp` for electric power consumers to renew their details and request name changes.
As per this initiative, the camps, as mentioned above, have been in progress since July 24th in all 2811 Section Offices of TANGEDCO (Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Company). TANGEDCO had previously announced that power consumers can utilize this camp to provide details such as Aadhar Card, Heir Certificate, Property Tax Payment Receipt, etc., and pay a fee of Rs. 708/- to facilitate services like changing the consumer`s name.
During this special camp, if all the required documents are furnished, the name change will be processed on the spot. However, with only one week remaining for the conclusion of this special camp, information indicates that name changes have been completed for 1.08 lakh connections so far.
